Unlimited data eSIM: what to check about speed and limits

Learn how to distinguish unlimited data, daily gigabytes, reduced speed, and hotspot before buying an eSIM for travel.

QUICK ANSWER

Before choosing an eSIM advertised as unlimited, check how much use it allows at maximum speed, what happens afterward, and whether there are limits on internet sharing. Unlimited does not necessarily mean consistently high speed.

Start with the gigabytes at maximum speed

Distinguish between a total bundle, a daily threshold, and a plan with no fixed advertised amount but subject to fair use. Ask when the counter resets and in which time zone. To compare offers, use the conditions in the data sheet, not just the commercial name of the plan.

What reduced speed means

After the threshold, the connection may remain at a lower speed. What is practical to do will depend on that effective speed and on the network. Do not assume you will be able to continue a video call or work as before. Before signing up, confirm the reduced speed and the restrictions applied by the provider.

Internet sharing is checked separately

The hotspot may have a different rule from the data used directly on the phone. If you want to connect a laptop or several phones, check that it is allowed, the limit, and the combined usage. The battery and coverage of the phone that is sharing also affect the experience.

Coverage and 5G are not a permanent guarantee

The available network can vary by country, operator, device, location and congestion. A plan with 5G access does not mean you will always connect to 5G or get a fixed speed. If you rely on internet for work, prepare a backup connection.

How Mundi eSIM is presented

The catalog indicates 10 GB per day at maximum speed and then reduced speed, for 28 days from first use. These are not accumulable 280 GB. The exact reduced speed and networks must be confirmed in the final terms before opening the contracting process. We do not advertise unlimited maximum speed or guaranteed 5G.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the 280 GB on the first day?

No. These plans have a daily threshold: 10 GB at full speed per day, not a shared 280 GB allowance to use freely.

Is an unlimited plan always the best purchase?

No. If you use little data, compare other options for the same trip length and destination. Price, limits and coverage matter more than a label.
