Before scanning the QR code
Check the exact model and the phone's purchase region in the manufacturer's documentation. It must support eSIM and be free of carrier lock. Update the system if needed and have a stable wifi connection. Do not share the QR code or installation code: they are personal access data.
Installation and activation are different
Read the plan instructions before installing. Some plans start on installation and others on first use at the destination. Receiving a QR does not establish the start date. Mundi eSIM’s catalogue states that validity starts with first use; always check the final plan information and its activation deadline.
Identify your lines
Give the new line a simple name such as Travel. Select it for mobile data and check whether the provider requires data roaming to be enabled. Keep data roaming off on your usual line if you do not want to use its data abroad. Avoid automatic data switching between lines.
If it does not connect on arrival
Check that you have arrived in an included country, that the plan is valid, and that the line is turned on. Review the provider settings and turn airplane mode on and off. If it still fails, contact support over wifi and provide the model, country, and error message. Do not delete the eSIM: some profiles do not allow reinstallation.
Activate it within 90 days of purchase
Install and activate your eSIM before travelling, using Wi-Fi and following your order instructions. You have up to 90 days from purchase to activate your eSIM. Your 28 days of service begin with the first use of data. If your home country is included and you use data there, the plan may start before your trip. The activation window does not add days of service.
Sources and checks
Check your operator’s conditions and your model’s documentation. References: Apple: eSIM on trips and European Union: roaming. The plan data come from Mundi eSIM's catalog and must be confirmed before contracting.
