Do you need to activate data roaming with a travel eSIM?
Differentiate roaming on your eSIM from roaming on your usual line. Check the data line and avoid automatic changes before traveling.

QUICK ANSWER
Some travel eSIMs need roaming to connect to the included networks. Follow your order settings and check each line separately: enabling roaming on an eSIM does not change the roaming price of your usual SIM.

eSIM and roaming are different concepts
An eSIM is a digital SIM profile; roaming is using a network other than your usual one. A travel plan may connect through roaming agreements. Therefore, avoiding roaming costs on your usual plan does not mean the eSIM’s data roaming setting should always be off.
First check the line selected for data
Give your usual line and travel eSIM clear names. Select the travel line when you want to start using data and check that the phone will not switch automatically to another line if signal is lost. This choice is independent of the line selected for calls. Menu names vary by device.
Follow your plan’s instructions
Activate roaming on the travel eSIM if the provider requires it. On the regular line, check the bundle and cost before allowing data. Do not change settings for both lines at the same time without checking which one you are editing. If you use calls, SMS or voicemail, check the terms with the operator.
Do not use a made-up APN
If the order includes an APN, use that exact value. If none is specified and the connection fails, contact support. Copying settings from another brand or a video about another plan may prevent connection. Before asking for help, check that you are in an included country and that the plan is valid.
When the days start in Mundi eSIM
Install and activate your eSIM before travelling, using Wi-Fi and following your order instructions. You have up to 90 days from purchase to activate your eSIM. Your 28 days of service begin with the first use of data. If your home country is included and you use data there, the plan may start before your trip. The activation window does not add days of service.
Frequently asked questions
Does disabling data roaming avoid any charges?
Prevents certain data uses on that line, but does not replace reviewing calls, SMS, and other services in your plan.
Should I delete the eSIM if it still won’t connect?
Do not delete it without contacting support: reinstallation is not guaranteed and the QR code may have usage restrictions.
